Person Search not returning results consistent with expectations

Good morning all.

We are seeing some odd behavior with the person search in Taleo Performance the past couple of days.  If we do a search by name, or by employee number, we're getting no results back.  We did submit a ticket for this in MOS (3-7362309111), and we had our production zone restarted last night to eliminate JVM issues from the list of possibilities.  The restart did not resolve the issue, so we're moving on to the next step.

Are any other clients seeing similar behavior when doing searches in Taleo Performance from the search box at the top of the screen?  There's an assumption that it's possibly an indexing issue, which requires a restart of the search server.  If this is indeed the culprit, other clients should be seeing similar behavior since the search servers are shared.
