Is it possible to assign compensation plans by custom criteria?

Hello experts,

we have created a custom field in Core HR called "Division". We would like to assign compensation plans to managers based on this custom field. 

So far, we have used Business Unit as plan allocation criteria, but we prefer to use Division.

Is it possible to create an area of responsibility based on a custom field (in our case Division) and consequently assign plans to managers based on this field?
