Time Card Approval sent to Time Card Approver when employee has just 1 assignment but does not work

Hello Experts,

We have a requirement when a employee has a Time Card Approver assigned to them the Time Card should go to the Time Card Approver else it should go to the Line Manager.

We created a new Supervisor Role called Time Card Approver and made changes to Workflow.

This works when the employee has only one assignment.

The issue is when an employee has multiple assignments  the first approval went to the Time Card Approver.

After the Time Card Approver approved it, it went to the line manager. Even though the assignment had Time Card Approver.

Can you please suggest what changes I can do in order to achieve the requirement for multi-assignment employees
