Can someone please assist me to understand the impact of the Enhanced Talent Profile Management on Competencies.

We are licensed for performance and goal management and use competencies in our appraisals. Competencies are content items in profile management, Do we need to upgrade to the 'Enhanced Talent Profile Management' to continue to use competencies? 

Pease urgently assist, our non-prod environments have already been upgraded to 20B
