Absence Plan carryover rule override for specific individuals

Hi,
Does anyone know if it's possible to devise an override (or exception) to an Absence Plan's carryover rules for individual employees?
For example, the standard carryover rule may be 5 days and expiration is 6 months. For an individual employee who has been on extended leave of absence in the prior year they are entitled by legislation to be able to carry more days forward than the standard rule. Is this possible without having to resort to making an adjustment because then the order of usage of the carried over days before the new year's accruals is not enforced.
