IPv6 Routing 167ms Between TPG Melbourne and OCI ap-melbourne-1

Summary:

I experience 167ms between my TPG-based connection in Melbourne to ap-melbourne-1.

Content (required):

When provisioning instances in ap-melbourne-1 with IPv6 enabled and subsequently attempting to connect to them via my home TPG-based connection I am receiving latency of 167ms at all times. In the return path I can see that the packets incorrectly travel via San Jose.

During my free trial I reached out to Oracle premium support and they suggested that TPG need to fix something on their end. I no longer have access to the premium support.

I have reached out to TPG and they are adamant that this issue is not on their end; instead they are suggesting that the Oracle NOC need to 'find a better path via domestic routes' and 'stop preferring HE.net'.

Howdy, Stranger!
