Onboarding Journeys checklist how can a task can be added after the checklist is created ?

In journeys - for the onboarding process - we have a checklist based on an HIRE event.
One of the tasks is only for new managers with direct reports - with eligibility condition.
The issue - many times during the hire the new manager is created without direct reports. And the direct reports are assigned to him between one day to a month or more. So when the onboarding task is created for the new manager when submarine the hire - this task isn’t assigned.
1. is it possible to have a separate onboarding checklist that once the direct reports are added - the task will be add To THE existing checklist of the new hire?
