Auto transfer performance document feature

We need expertise solution or inputs on below all concerns, as we do not have much details in the documentation thus still we did not enable the feature of auto transfer PD feature.

1) When the documents will get transfer to other manager defined in core HR, sometimes it will just transfer when we just have profile option (ORA_HRA_AUTO_TRANSFER_PERF_DOCS = Y) or sometimes we need to run the process (Transfer Performance Documents with Manager Change) too, any idea about the difference between these two options, as per documentation we need to enable the profile option and schedule the process too. Need more details about the same
