Is there a way to use some type of formula/calculation in simple components?

Summary:

Content (required): We have two components for a salary basis with a type of 'Salary amount is determined by simple components' that we can't figure out how or if the amount can be calculated.

Here is what we are trying to do....is this possible, If so how can we accomplish it:

1. Can we calculate the amount for the Special Allowance component: Special Allowance = Current Base Salary – Total Gross
2. Can we calculate the amount for the CTC component: CTC = Total Gross + Provident Fund + Gratuity
