Salary End Date during End Assignment

When ending a non-primary assignment, is it possible to configure a salary path so that the user can end date the latest salary history row for that assignment? In our current set-up, once the user ends the non-primary assignment, they must navigate to the Salary History quick action, look-up the inactivated assignment, and then end date the top row in the salary history section. We would like this additional step to be apart of the entire end assignment process flow if possible.
