How to Configure BPM Workflow Approval Deadlines to Escalate Only but Not Expire/Reject

Looking to configure my approval workflow to have a deadline that escalates, but my approval workflow only shows expire and then escalate.

I am trying to get the deadline tab in the approval workflow to escalate to manager after a certain amount of time, but so far in testing it will escalate and then if the manager doesn't respond it will then reject. How do I get it to not reject and only escalate? I keep reading in Oracle documentation and in Customer Connect that I should be able to expire OR escalate OR renew, but my options don't show this.
