Absence during notice periods

Summary:

We have employees who have long notice periods. When an employee's termination date is input in the future, we have found that employees and line managers are not able to input absences during the notice period.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

e.g. If an employee has a 6 month notice period, future termination date is entered for 31/1/24. Employee goes on sickness absence in November 23. Line manager is not currently able to input sickness absence. HR Admin are able to enter on their behalf only.
