Need to Submit only one content section instead of complete content type for approval

Summary:

Hello Everyone,

We have enabled two content sections (Functional & Leadership competency) under COMPETENCY content type for person profile. We have given access to employee to edit his/her own competencies which eventually needs approval from line manager.

Question 1: When Employee performs any changes to functional competency, both functional and leadership competencies are getting submitted for approval although there is no change for leadership comps and vice-versa. Can someone please help me in routing approvals based on individual content sections instead of both submitting for approval.

Question 2: If I am trying to edit functional competencies then the leadership competencies are getting locked and is not allowing me to update in parallel. And also, I am able to update only one competency at a time per each content section before submitting for approval.
