Change Work Definition date based on Work Order Start date on Released Work Orders

Summary:

We have a requirement to change the Work Definition date on a Released Work Order so that the latest Work definition version corresponding to the latest item revision gets defaulted on the WO.

However the Work definition date is not editable on the WO once it is in Released status. Changing the start date or completion date of the Work Order also doesnt update the Work Definition date and hence the latest Work Definition and item revision cannot be pulled in to the Work Order.

Is there a way to achieve this? Primary goal is to update the Work order such that the latest item revision gets produced instead of the older item revision which was active when the WO was created.
