How do I end date a coverage option on a benefit plan?

Summary:

We are changing our employee life plan to allow employees to choose an amount of coverage rather than an option of 1, 2 or 3 times salary, but I've not been able to end date the 1, 2,3 options on the benefit plan.

I edited the Options to end date the plan type for option but that did not carry over to the benefit plan.
