Absence Plan is showing inactive for employee even though employee is eligible for plan.

We changed the eligibility of existing absence plan which resulted in inactivation of plan attached to employees. Accordingly, after some time as per the new eligibility, employee is again eligible for that absence plan. However, absence plan status is still showing inactive even though employee is eligible for that plan. How can we automatically make this plan active when employee is eligible for leave.
