Maternity and Paternity absences not allowing entry for weekends

Summary:

Whenever user is trying to submit an absence under paternity or maternity absence type, for the duration in which the weekend days also fall, they encounter an error saying the absence cannot be scheduled on non working days.

Customer wants the user to be able to submit an absence for weekend as well, system should not restrict. Please advise.
