Delete 'completed' performance documents

Is there a way of deleting 'completed' performance documents?

We have an example where particularly for Performance Improvement Plans, we don't want these documents visible to employees indefinitely.

I have noticed that unless in a canceled state (which these won't be) you cannot delete the documents. Do we have to delete these using HDL/Purging tools or is there an easier way?
