How retroactive/retrospective changes work in subscription management ?

Summary:

Hi

We have a below requirement:

If a subscription starts on January 1, 2025, with an initial price of $50 per month and is invoiced for four months (January to April), and then in April, the price is retroactively changed to $60 per month effective from January 1, 2025, how should the system adjust the invoicing?

  • Initial Invoicing: $50 * 4 months = $200
  • New Price Invoicing: $60 * 4 months = $240
  • Credit Back: $200 (amount already invoiced)
  • New Invoice: $240 (amount due with the new price)
  • Net Adjustment: -$200 (credit) + $240 (new invoice) = $40

How this can be achieved in oracle subscription management without impacting downstream application (AR).
