Performance Redwood, will hiding the edit document dates affect all performance templates?

When making updates in VBS on the performance documents, will that change carry over to all performance templates? For example, while working in VBS I have open an Employee Annual Review. During that entire process, no one should be able to modify dates. We have another separate template for a performance counseling type form and we want the manager to be able to modify dates on that form in the initial step.

I just want to make sure that the updates I am making will only affect the form I am working in, or is it across all performance?
