Timecard layout: Enable project team membership checkbox

Hi,

Could anyone tell me what does the 'Enable project team membership' checkbox do? Client wants to enable the project related fields on timecard for future use and hence i was trying to create a new layout by selecting project costing. I am not sure if i have to check 'Enable project team membership'.

Could anyone advise?
