Lot Genealogy reporting after updating existing item Genealogy Tracking

Hello,

We have existing items with previous transactions for which we would like to report Lot Genealogy. These items just had their Enable Genealogy Tracking Enabled activated. As mentioned, we are trying to report the Genealogy for the previous transactions but finding no results. Extensive research on this functionality had led me to the following conclusion which I am seeking Oracle confirmation of validity or a work-around we are not aware of.

True or is there a work-around: "To track lot genealogy in Oracle Fusion, the "Enable Genealogy Tracking" item attribute needs to be set to "Yes" before the relevant transactions occur. There is no way to retroactively derive genealogy for transactions where this setting was not enabled."
