Employee takes unplanned absence when rostered to a shift

Scenario: Schedule has been generated and all shifts have been assigned when an employee goes on sickness absence.

If an employee goes on sickness absence and they are rostered to a shift, what should the next steps be?

A. System automatically unassigns the employee from the shift so that someone else can be assigned

B. Schedule Manager manually unassigns the shift so that someone else can be assigned

C. Schedule Manager creates additional shift and employee on sick stays assigned to shift

Consideration: our customer records sickness absence in working days so we would want the system to know which days they are rostered to work for sick pay purposes.
