How to stop benefits plans from being reactivated after coverage dropped
We have employees who go on maternity leave and do not wish to continue their benefits.
For this reason, when an employee goes on maternity leave, we process the "Drop Term Coverage" event to prevent premiums from being calculated and employee data from being sent to the benefits carriers.
However, we have detected that live events, such as age changes, reactivate the benefits plans, and we must manually drop the coverage again.
Is there a more effective way to handle this process?
Should we manually terminate the benefit relationship tied to live event processing until the employee is back from her maternity leave?
