Ongoing Salary had an end date when the Assignment is Active

Customer is using the Core HR and compensation module. In Compensation Customer had only cycle which is Annual.

But in the Core HR when the employees are having the Transfer, Secondment, Assignment change, Location change, etc., through out the year, the change Salary or Salary details are having an random End date, instead of 'Ongoing' status for an 'Active' employee work relationship.

Any configuration or process workflow that needs to be checked why the Salary details are having an 'End date'?
