Critical and Standard Alerts for Overdue Performance Task are not sending Email

Hello,
We have recently received a request by the business to activate Standard and Critical alerts notifications for every Performance task. We have created a new performance template to include Due Dates for all tasks and specified the number of days before tasks are due; we would like the system to notify the employee. However, after testing, we don't get any alerts (email, FYI bell notification, or Things to Do notification). I am not sure what we are missing.
we have run the process "Send Performance Document Alert Notifications" still emails are not triggering. Can anyone help me on this?
