REDWOOD - Performance Documents showing 'null' inactive employees in Search

Summary:

When in Performance Management > Performance Documents > Filtered to Review Period, Assignment Status 'Active' and Document Status 'in progress' > Employee name. If you type in a first name, if there are multiple people with that name it is also showing inactive records 'null'. Why is it showing inactive records if A. these people never had a performance document and B. they are inactive, and the filter is set to Active. How do I make the search only show active employees
