Steps to follow to prevent employees from being their own approvers

  1. Access the Setup Task: Log in to Oracle Cloud and go to the Setup and Maintenance work area. 
  2. Find the Approval Task: Search for and select the task configuration task (e.g., Manage Task Configurations) within the appropriate functional area. 
  3. Open the Task in BPM Worklist: Navigate to the BPM Worklist and select the specific approval task you want to configure from the pane. 
  4. Enable Self-Approval Prohibition:
    • Edit the task and click on the Configuration subtab. 
    • Locate and check the box next to "Prohibit self-approval by users named in these payload attributes". 
  5. Add the Payload Attribute:
    • Click the "+" icon (or the "Add" button) to add a payload attribute.
