How can I set the default availability of a service resource to available

Currently, we have queue resources who, when logging in, are per default 'unavailable'. As a result, they aren't assigned work items (service requests). I have tried to find documentation on this but was unable to get anything effective.

Is there a way to set the availability of a resource (user) per default to 'available' when they log in?
