How to use advanced mode within VBS and is it supported?

Summary:

There are some elements within VBS Express Mode that we are unable to configure in Redwood but we may be able to manipulate them within Advanced mode by amending the JSON or CSS. An example of this would be the text messages section within Candidate Profile. This is not possible to hide using VBS Express mode.

What is Oracle's position with supporting the use of Advanced mode? Has anyone else made use of Advanced Mode with success?
