we would like to confirm the standard behavior of Person Number and Worker/Assignment Number in Oracle HCM.

  • As far as we know, the Person Number is always global and unique across the entire instance, and it does not reset by Business Unit or Legal Employer, since it identifies the person at the enterprise level.
  • The Worker/Assignment Number instead is linked to the assignment, and can be configured with generation rules (prefixes, ranges, sequences). We understand that it can be defined either at enterprise level or at legal employer level, depending on business requirements.

Could you please confirm if this understanding is correct?
