Enterprise Journal process using existing BPM Manage Journal Approval workflow

Summary: Is it possible to use our existing journal workflow rules in Manage Journal Approvals/BPM for the journals that are created in ARCS for EJM on the RI's? I'm seeing different results while researching. If so how exactly does it work? We need to follow our business process that has an audit control on it for the approvals of such or any journals to happen in ERP, not in the EJM set up.
