What is the significance of Early Termination Fee Name field in Subscription Profile

In a Subscription Profile we have a field called 'Early Termination Fee Name'. It is a free text and does not show up on Subscriptions created anywhere.

During subscription creation it does not pass any value for early termination penalty and early termination penalty remaining a LOV with 3 values - Flat Free, Prorated Flat Fee and Percentage of remaining term fee.

Hence the question - What is the significance of this field in Subscription Management?
