transactions populating in the credit memo application window based on the transaction/receipt date

Is it possible to have transactions/receipts populating in the credit memo application window based on the transaction/receipt date. we would like to see if the dat comes in sorted according to transaction date for easier applicatiopn without having to manually sort in ascending/descending order
