Time cards with only absences can't be approved

Summary:

We have a scenario where timecards are generated for a specific group of employees with their scheduled hours. Sometimes the employee only has absences for the entire week and the manager has to approve the absences via absence module, but the timecard (with only absences) just remains in entered status.

Is there a way to absences on the timecards be approved when it's approved via absence module?
