Performance Goal Approvals attribute or role to go to line manager for approvals help

Hi guys,

Hoping someone can help us urgently.

We have enabled goals, however we want approvals to go to the employee/worker's line manager when a performance goal is created. Currently defaulted to bypass and if switched off the bypass it auto approves.

We used the worklist and the transaction console to identify an attribute to set up role based apporval but we're struggling as there is nothing there to select.

There is a is manager flag but we don't use it and I don't know how that would solve us identifying who is the line manager.

This feels like a simple requirement and usually simpler in other areas to select line manager however not in goal approvals - Has anyone achieved this?
