Is it an industry best practice to remove the CPQ–OM integration and manage all change orders solely
Summary:
We currently operate with a CPQ–OM integration that manages updating or amending an equipment model, pricing adjustments, approvals, and other order updates, like adding a new line to an order or updating the line item details like qty, etc. The question we want to raise is whether it is considered an industry best practice to remove this integration and instead shift all change order activities directly into OM. Would such a move provide a more sustainable long‑term approach, or does maintaining the CPQ–OM connection remain the recommended model for handling complex equipment and parts orders?
