How to delay visibility of salary on My Compensation Page

Summary:

There's a new functionality in 25D to Restrict Salary, Individual Compensation, Payments Data from My Compensation Pages. We can now delay visibility of salary, individual compensation, and payment details on the My Compensation page.

I was trying to test this, however couldn't understand the 3rd and the 4th point in the below document. Has anyone tried this and explain it.

How do I delay visibility of salary, individual compensation, and payment details on the My Compensation page?
  1. Create a profile option that has the date set up.
    1. Go to Setup and Maintenance > Tasks panel > Search > Manage Profile Options.
    2. Create a profile option.
