Changing UOM and deactivating old absence plan/type

Hi all,

We are having a requirement to change UOM of sick leave from Calendar days to Days.

We are thinking of below approach

  1. Rename old absence type and provide end date/deactivate absence plan and absence type.
  2. Create new absence plan and type for Sick leave and change UOM to days.

Queries on below

  1. What are the prerequisites for deactivating/providing end date for absence plan & type. What is the recommended approach? If we provide end date, can we report on historical data?
  2. For the new absence plan and type, should we keep effective date as 1/1/51 or start of the year(2026)?
