Change Current Task not working as expected

Summary:

Under Process Mass Actions for Performance Documents we are using "Change Current Task" functionality. Any task which is under Manager evaluation needs to be moved to first approval. We have notifications enabled which goes to the second level manager when a manager submits the document. However, mass action should not trigger notifications. What we have noticed is it is triggering notifications and instead of assigning the notification to the employee's second level manager it is assigning it to the manager of the person who submitted the mass action process. Please let us know if you have faced this issue.
