Time & Labor Hour Decimal Precision for California Employees

Summary:

We are currently using Oracle Time & Labor with worked hours formatted to three decimal places, and those hours flow into payroll at the same precision. For employees working in California, we are seeing minor underpayments due to rounding.

We previously opened an SR and were advised that increasing hour precision (for example, to five decimal places) is not supported. At this point, we are considering reverting to three decimal places but want to ensure we are following standard practice.

For those with California-based employees:

  • How are your Time & Labor worked hours formatted (number of decimal places)?
  • Are you using any specific rounding rules or payroll configurations to prevent underpayment?

Howdy, Stranger!
