How to route activities from a parent bucket directly to child bucket without assigning to resources

edited Jan 30, 2026 10:17AM in Field Service 2 comments

Summary:

In Oracle Field Service, is it possible to route activities from a parent bucket directly into child buckets, without assigning them to any technician (resource)?

We have a hierarchical bucket structure and would like activities to be automatically placed into specific child buckets based on activity properties, while keeping them unassigned to technicians. Technician assignment should be handled later by routing or planners.

Example Scenario

Bucket hierarchy:

  • Parent Bucket: Hyderabad
  • Child Buckets: Gachibowli, Secunderabad, Kukatpally

Requirement:

If a specific activity property (for example, action = A) is set, the activity should move from the Hyderabad parent bucket into the Gachibowli child bucket.

Howdy, Stranger!
