Do we have any standard functionality to restrict ‘invalid char’ in user inputs in OTM?

In the User defined fields (Remark field in Enhanced workbench), Users are just doing copy and paste some text from an external document where they pasting some invalid characters like Bullets, special symbols etc., OTM accepting it and storing it. Do we have any standard functionality to restrict such inputs in OTM?
