Why Are Recurring Appointments Not Getting Created Within The Specified Date Range?

Let's say I create an appointment on an account such that the start date and end date have a gap of 1 day between them, with the recurrence type set as "Daily", having number of instances as 10, and Number of days between instances as 1 as shown below:

The recurring appointments get created past the end date. In this case we have start date as 17th Feb 2026 and end date as 18th Feb 2026. However, the appointments have got created till 02nd March 2026. Is this an expected behavior? Is this happening due to the number of days between instance having a minimum value of 1? Is this use-case a valid scenario? If yes, then how can we fix it so as to not create appointments past the end date?
