Return and issuing backflushed component

Need your suggestion on the below scenario,

We have a scenario where a component issued to a work order through backflush needs to be returned due to a defect and replaced with a new component.

For push supply type components, a movement request is created and integrated with WMS, allowing us to return the issued component through the standard process.

However, in the case of operation pull supply type components, how can we return the defective component and reissue a replacement component?
