Order Release with more than 100 release lines, times out during show routing option

Summary:

We have 2 order releases with exactly the same locations, constraints and characteristics. The only difference being, 1 order has 250+ unique release lines with distinct material/item while the other order has only 10 line items.

Order - 1 - A to B, 250 lines. Bulk Plan runs for 8 minutes to plan on multi-leg itinerary. Show routing option times out.

Order - 2 - A to B, 10 lines. Bulk Plan runs around 2 minutes to plan on multi-leg itinerary. Show routing option returns result in under 2minutes.

I did find Oracle Help note that suggests not to have orders with more release lines, as that would impact in bulk plan slowness. The volume of orders with more lines is of 3-5% in total and looking for suggestions/experiences on how such cases were optimized without any major change in the middleware or source system.
