How to hide/remove the start date of a EFF Field in the Additional Person Info page

We have a business requirement to create an EFF field in the Additional Person Information page. However, we have noticed that when an EFF field is created, a Start Date field is automatically added by default.

We would like to understand if there is a way to hide or remove this Start Date field, or an alternative method to avoid having it associated with every EFF field created in the Additional Person Information page.
