Legal Hold: Updating the Document Type of a Document Record

Hi,

We have a requirement to put a hold on the existing documents of an employee in case of any legal questions. The documents should be protected from the deletion once the hold is marked irrespective of the earlier deletion settings of the document types. Once the legal matter is resolved, we should have capability to lift the hold and they can come back to earlier types where deletion is not restricted.

There should be less technical involvement so that HR or Admins can take required actions without any involvement of technical associate.

One probable solution:

Create a legal hold Document type with deletion/update restriction. Mass download all the documents of the employee and Mass upload all the document types under the legal hold document type and then delete the docs for the earlier document types. Repeat the steps the other way when legal hold is removed.
