How is Work Order Description field used?

Summary: We would like to use the Work Order Description field to be able to type in misc notes. Is this a free from field or does it have a purpose?

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information): In the classic view, we current use Planner notes for Misc comments. In the Redwood Work Orders screen, that field is not available, you have to drill into the WO. It looks like Work Order Description is on the WO Screen. Before we start using this as a freeform field, we want to make sure this field does not have a purpose.
