Can time cards be approved by a manager for an indirect report without delegation?

Summary: Is there a way for Time Cards to be allow approval by a manager for an indirect report that is already built in to Oracle Fusion? Or is this only available as a direct report?

I had thought there was a patch that happened that allowed this ability, but maybe it was visibility only and not approval ability. From what I gather now, approval ability is only available if the direct manager/approver delegated it to their manager (who would be the indirect manager of the employee).

I see an old question just like this that was never answered from 2021 in community.
